Welcome to my laundry room.......These changes have been made for quite awhile, i'm just finally taking pictures. This door was an exterior door that we saved to use as our laundry entrance. Dave already had a new door bought and a jam hung when a SIL gave me the idea to put a door with windows in between the foyer and laundry. Dave agreed that would be a great idea and willingly redid the opening. I am so glad we decided on this door! It is nice to have the open feeling, but still have a door if i want to close off the laundry for any reason. Dave then painted the door from exterior brown to interior white, and wa-la! I love it!!
I am blessed with good help. All 4 kids do their fair share of laundry. And yes the 9-year old boy can fold a mean shirt!! Fold it for the Lord!
This room is small but mighty. Dave and I made some brilliant decisions, if i may say so myself. Kauffman Enterprises made fabulous cabinets and counters for us. We've been married for 18 years and this is my first sink next to my washer. It's also the first time i've ever had a cabinet to put my cleaning buckets in. Small thing, but oh so nice! The counter top over the washer is super handy. No more losing a sock or little things off the back of the washer. I love how it makes the area look neat and clean.
Here's along the other wall. This area replaces a small closet we had before. This, too, turned out even nicer than i envisioned. The kids throw their backpacks on the counter and each have a hook or two. The baskets held hats, gloves, scarves, and socks ( thick ones for going out with their boots on ) this winter and i will soon put all those away and it can hold something else for the warmer months. I don't know what yet, but it'll surely be something useful and handy.
Down below they share a 'split' drawer. It goes left to right/youngest to oldest at this house. Flip-flops, crocs, lunchboxes, school water bottles, softball gloves and anything i find around the house goes in these drawers. "If you can't find your gum or even your homework, look in your drawer first." Their bedrooms are upstairs, so this is my go-to spot on the first floor.
Just a sneak peak into the powder room off the foyer. I say foyer, but really it's only an 'entry-way'. Practical, not formal.
Here it is...not entirely finished, but hey Spring is coming. We are currently working on the exterior doors. They still get painted inside and out and then the grids get put in. I'll give the windows one last windexing and then hopefully they'll stay clean for a few years!!

...and now! We've been busy. More work and dirt than i care to recall. We still need some furniture, some areas are just vacant and some furniture is in temporary spots, but we live quite comfortably as is.If i had a magic wand i would wave it and be done. I do not enjoy unfinished projects, but neither do i like making quick decisions, just because. So one day hopefully things will cross my path and say 'pick me' and it'll be just the perfect chair or wall art,etc. In the meantime i am trying to be grateful.
Next time i will show you Megan's new room in the basement and possibly Brooke's room now that it's hers only. And there's a cabinet coming......maybe this week still. There's always something going on. I am not bored.
